Admissions
The First Step
Get in touch with us. Our admissions coordinator will verify insurance, collect any out-of-pocket costs (if applicable), and coordinate travel after you contact Detox West Tennessee. We will let you know all the things you should bring with you, and what to expect during your stay with us. If you are referred externally, your admissions coordinator will work with your referrer to ensure the continuity of your care.
What to expect when you arrive
Our staff of expert, medically trained professionals and drug detox specialists are onsite and available to help with your drug and alcohol rehabilitation as soon as you enter Detox West Tennessee. These detox professionals will ensure the withdrawal process is handled as safely and as comfortably as possible. The specific detox treatment will vary depending on the drug you are addicted to, and the length and severity of your addiction. Also, your general health and well-being will be considered. Your treatment will likely include the use of medications to alleviate any withdrawal symptoms.
Your evaluation
You will be evaluated with tests when you start a Detox West Tennessee program. These tests check the types and quantity of drugs/alcohol that are present in your bloodstream. Our staff will also evaluate you to identify existing psycho-social issues. If you’re coming from an external referral, be assured that we can coordinate with them as well.
Reaching “stabilization”
Stabilization is the process of physically detoxifying the body of the abused substance, be it drugs or alcohol. At Detox West Tennessee, we are here to guide you by answering questions and providing information. This is a vital part of helping our clients reach stabilization during detox. In our experience, by using good communication clients understand what to expect during and after detox.
After Treatment
We encourage clients to continue treatment at a rehabilitation facility. While the drug and alcohol detoxification process handles the physical withdrawal of addiction, the final step of the detoxification process is actually readying you for a life without alcohol or drugs. The statistics show individuals have a much higher chance of staying sober from heroin, opiate and alcohol addictions if they have a plan for continuing care after detoxing. If you are already coming via an external referral, we will coordinate with them.
