At our West Tennessee Rehab, our multidisciplinary team of professionals understands that addiction is complex and meets each client where they are at each time someone walks through the doors. Our team consists of physicians, treatment specialists, and experts who use their education and experience to provide exceptional and individualized care.

James Roy “Trey” Appleton III, M - D MEDICAL DIRECTOR

James Roy “Trey” Appleton III, MD

Medical Director

Dr. James Appleton earned his medical degree from East Tennessee State University and then completed his residency at the University of Tennessee in Family Medicine.  After having worked in the field of Family Medicine for over 15 years, Dr. Appleton took a particular interest in Addiction Medicine and then completed a two year fellowship in Addiction Medicine at the University of Florida. During his fellowship in Addiction Medicine he had intensive training, working directly with patients who were admitted for Inpatient Detoxification, Medication-Assisted Treatment, Partial Hospitalization and Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Programs and worked with the Addiction Consultation Service at the University of Florida’s Shands Hospital. Currently he is the Medical Director at Detox West Tennessee, a detoxification unit in Jackson Tennessee and he also runs a Medication Assisted Clinic in Jackson, Tennessee as well. Dr. Appleton is a compassionate physician who encourages and empowers his patients who are suffering from addiction to see that recovery is possible.

Dr. Pruitt is our Medical Director. With over 40 years in Medical Practice, Dr. Pruitt oversees and manages each residential detox process individually to maintain comfort and safety. Dr. Pruitt has an outstanding medical practice achievement history. To name a few, Dr. Pruitt is double Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and served as Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Saint Thomas West Hospital from 1995-2018.

He was listed by his colleagues as one of Nashville’s most talented and respected physicians in Consumer’s Guide to Top Doctors, a publication of medicine’s best. Dr. Pruitt leads our team with knowledge and compassion to provide a phenomenal level of care. We can assure you that your loved one is under one of the utmost precise and competent care when they are at our facility. Dr. Pruitt’s approach to detoxing clients from opioids (including fentanyl), alcohol, methamphetamine, benzodiazepines, kratom, and other substances, stands apart from others in a way that will undoubtedly give your loved one the maximized potential that is key to beginning their journey to a life of sobriety.

Rachel Hardin - Director of Nursing

Director of Nursing

Born and raised in Jackson, TN, Rachel knew from an early age that she wanted to work in a helping profession. She graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2009 and began her career in cardiac care at the local hospital. In 2014, she started her own recovery journey. By 2016, Rachel joined a local treatment center, and in 2017, she became part of the opening team for a long-term residential treatment program for pregnant women and women with newborns. She has been the Program Coordinator for that program since its inception. It was during this time that she discovered her true passion.

In 2020, Rachel became a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and in 2021, she earned certification as a Certified Addictions Registered Nurse. She is confident that she has found her calling in working with addicts and alcoholics. Being a steppingstone in another person’s journey to freedom is, to her, a true blessing. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and their four beautiful daughters.

Connor Quinn - Director of Business Development

Connor was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee but his journey towards sobriety led him to California from 2013 to 2018. A former hockey player who’s story includes opiates, alcohol and everything in between has found a new and abundantly fulfilling life in recovery.

Chris Denney - Admissions Coordinator

Admissions Coordinator

Chris, originally from Nashville, embarked on his recovery journey in 2018. Since then, he has become a cornerstone of the Nashville recovery community. His commitment to his own recovery program serves as an inspiration to many. In his leisure time, he enjoys making music, rock climbing, and assisting fellow alcoholics and addicts in overcoming their struggles.

With 35 years in the treatment industry, JC has been changing lives for longer than most of our clients have been alive.  JC shows up every day to lead groups and meet with our clients individually while also being a staple in the recovery community of Jackson. 

Hollie Ammons

Operations Manager

Hollie, a West Tennessee native, moved to Jackson seven years ago after finding sobriety. She always knew she wanted to help others, but she felt she needed to overcome her own struggles first. Now, Hollie feels truly blessed to have a career where she can be a guiding light for those starting their recovery journey. Outside of work, she cherishes time with her family and friends.

Davis Johnson

Admissions Coordinator

Davis, a Detroit native, is a gifted singer and songwriter who moved to Nashville over two years ago. Having overcome his own battles with substance abuse, Davis is a proud alumnus of Brentwood Springs Detox. We are thrilled to see the person he is becoming and are proud to have him as part of our team. Davis passionately uses his unique experiences to support families, friends, and individuals struggling with addiction.

Sharon L. Tipler, PMHNP

Nurse Practitioner

Sharon is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of nursing experience and 5 years of experience in the psychiatric field, ranging from child and adult inpatient care to community crisis stabilization and substance abuse treatment. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University ofTennessee at Martin. She worked as a Registered Nurse in areas such as med-surg, dialysis, and psychiatric emergencies. During this time, she gained an interest and a passion to study the effects of mental health and the imp act it had on someone’s physical health. She then began her education at Walden University where she received her Master of Science in Psychiatric Mental Health.

Sharon provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy for patients experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, schizophrenia spectrum disorder, bipolar and other mood disorders, stress intolerance, and recovery from addiction. She values the importance in creating an individualized plan of care that values client involvement, inter-professional collaboration, and evidence-based practices. In her free time, Sharon enjoys spending time with her fiancé and three-year-old daughter. She also loves traveling, attending live music events, and volunteering at her church.

Tasma G. Robertson, DNP, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC

Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Robertson, DNP, is a dual-certified nurse practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. She is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner and by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Robertson has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare field, including oncology, interventional radiology, family medicine, correctional medicine, urgent care, and addiction medicine.

Tasma provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy for patients experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, schizophrenia, trauma-related disorders, bipolar and other mood disorders, stress intolerance, and addiction recovery. She has a passion for helping others and is committed to providing holistic, compassionate care to her clients.

In her free time, Tasma enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and fur baby. Dr. Robertson believes in meeting people where they are and providing a safe space for healing and recovery.
